Log of Samsung Galaxy S3 IMEI: 353163052747325 S/N: RF1C56VPSWZ. Purchased 6th June 2012
21/12/2012 | 19:30 | Died! When opening whatsapp to view messages, a message appeared to say that the app had stopped and then a small orange progress bar appeared across the screen. The phone appeared to perform a restart but would not go past the splash screen (galaxy s3 logo).
22/12/2012 | 17:30 | still not working. Obtained a microSim adaptor to use in another phone. All repair centres closed. Technical support said they were unable to help.
27/12/2012 | 14:00 | took phone to The Repair Station in Teddington. Told that they could re-flash it. Returned to be told that it can't be re-flashed and needs to be sent for repair.
04/01/2013 | 17:30 | found that the phone was still at The Repair Station in Teddington. He sent it off that day to Anovo. Both he and Samsung Customer Support said that they would ensure that Anovo put a priority on the repair.
10/01/2013 | 11:00 | Phone received back after motherboard replacement
10/01/2013 | 20:00 | Noticed that the phone had already crashed once and could not connect to Samsung Kies (device not recognised).
12/01/2013 | 12:30 | Phone had crashed several times by this point. Spoke to Samsung Customer Support who told me that they would need the phone back for repair again. They again would not provide a replacement in the meantime. Therefore, not an option this time.
29/01/2013 | 13:45 | 3 store had a loan phone (albeit an HTC Wildfire!). Sent my S3 back for repair. Their courier collects every Tuesday and Friday - had already been today so it won't go back until Friday!
08/02/2013 | 13:30 | Notified that repair was complete and collected from 3 store. Letter from 3 to say that my phone had been fully tested and repaired.
09/02/2013 | 13:00 | Crashed several times since collected from repair. Conversation with both 3 after the repair and then Samsung, who told me that the phone was not sent to an authorised Samsung repair centre. Confronted 3, who's only answer was that they have Samsung-trained technicians within their repair centres. They also told me that they would go no further than replacing the motherboard. this has already been done and there is still a problem
10/02/2013 | 15:00 | After several crashes, found that I now could not make any calls "Not registered on network". Restarted, removed battery, performed SIM wipe. Nothing worked. Tried spare Sony Ericsson W995 phone and this worked. Put it back in S3 and it still did not work.
11/02/2013 | 13:30 | Left phone with representative at 3 store, Uxbridge, for collection by Samsung as agreed by both parties.
19/02/2013 | 17:45 | called to chase repair and told that it is with Anovo. Given their number but it was their fax. Tried correct number but they were closed.
13/03/2013 | Lots of chasing and phone calls to find that the phone was still sitting at the 3 store! Samsung never arranged the collection because their system crashed. Rearranged to find that it had still not been arranged. This occurred once more again before finding that the request was sitting with Anovo now, who had to be chased to arrange the collection, which finally occurred!
Decided at this point forward to put together a detailed log of crashes. Times are approximate (to within a few minutes)
21/03/2013 | 18:00 | collected from 3 Store Uxbridge after calling Anovo, who told me that it had been fixed and returned. The contact at 3 Store said he had a call from Kevin (Samsung) the previous day to say that a repair had not actually been carried out and that a collection would be rearranged. Anovo did not tell me any of this and I had not been able to get hold of Kevin since Tuesday 12th March, so I took the phone home.
22/03/2013 | 06:05 | saw that phone had in fact crashed (no LEDs) - alarm therefore did not go off. Held power button down to restart but phone did not go further than Galaxy S3 splash screen. Therefore the battery needed to be removed and replaced restart. | Battery removal required
22/03/2013 | 13:14 | noticed crash (glowing blue LED and blank screen). Battery removal required to restart. Phoned Samsung support and Paddy (yes, his actual name) said Kevin was not available and then put me though to Chantal in customer service (Mancunion accent). She said that they would need the phone back again and I said I would not send it back without a replacement as I've been without it for 6 of the 9 months I've owned it. She said she would send me an email to explain this part of the policy. 26/03/2013 21:47: I have checked my inbox and junk regularly - still no email. | Battery removal required

08/04/2013 | 19:00 | Two conversations with 3 technical support to report the network problem. Answered all of their questions checked all settings they requested. Finally, asked to perform a factory reset. Problem still occurs.
08/04/2013 | 20:57 | Called 3 technical support who advised that a manager would call back. She did, only to say that I would need to send the phone in for repair. She offered to escalate the issue to another team who will call in the next 2 - 3 days. I explained that this is not good enough.
Up until this point I was still unable to get through to the contact (who had taken ownership of this case) at Samsung, since 12th March 2013. Either unavailable or not in the office. Left several messages.

Samsung Will not recognise the problems with my Galaxy S3

Saturday, 25 May 2013
The phone first died on 21st December 2012 (I chuckle when people tell me that my phone "took one for the team").
After a motherboard replacement, the phone crashes at least every 12 hours (overheating to around 56 Celcius) and now does not connect to the network. I now use it on wi-fi, without the SIM or memory card (and yes, it still crashes every 12 hours).
One of the problems (Not registered on network) is at http://youtu.be/wfzEVrSnZDg
I will add the fault log soon...
